Basic Channel became such a defining sound for certain parts of NZ ./. thanks to some helpful person importing the tracks .. . I have about three or four records, buried somewhere that I mostly picked up in second hand bins at the time .. I love to spin them on lonely days . .. but the heroin house sound .. yea . never got that name here . I distinctly recall certain parties where the BC sound would be the shift us from daisy chain house tunes into an early morning lost dub sound times when the dance floor entered new space .. I remember going nuts for it, that hollow dusty chamber of tailing reverbs .. sounds wicked on really big PA's outside !! I remember hearing some story about how basics used to sample off the previous vinyl release to make the new release .. an ever inward spiral of sounds .. ?!? Still have the T-shirt ! It is nice to hear to fresh interest in the sound that I believe have laid alot of strong foundations for sounds. Excited recently finding alot of similar sounds on the net labels .. http://www.instabil.org/ stuff by .. Marko Fürstenberg on thinner stuff by .. Lief & Lump on texttone .. for melodic evolutions of the sounds .. .simon
