More to the point, it seems to be a "default" title for any electronic music that's underground (ie not Moby) but is as much meant for the home as the club. There's some very deep, complicated, intricate, 'clever' music that isn't IDM, and some truly stupid (in a good way) stuff that is. Yet another reason that it's not a particularly useful term. </standard soapbox>
