(Sorry for the repeat if you're on the idm list...)
Thursday June 2nd 2005:
Toast & Jam and m50 are ecstatic to bring Accelera Deck's fractured
tones and noise-bursts to Chicago for the first time in over a 10
year career!
Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, Accelera Deck is the current
recording guise of one Chris Jeely. A long time standard in the US
electronic scene, Accelera Deck is overdue for the exposure and
credit his music and work deserves. Continuing to work with his
guitar as a sound generator, Accelera Deck creates lush ambient
textures that reference Fennesz, My Bloody Valentine and delta blues
all in the same breath.
Working with labels such as Neo Ouija, 555, Morr, Scarcelight and
Toast & Jam, Accelera Deck has released 7 full-length albums, and
over two handfuls of limited editions 12", 7" and CDR singles,
including releases with remixes by Warp artist, Mira Calix and splits
with Sybarite and Arovane.
Opening the night will be M3rck records artist Proswell who will be
rocking it in all the right places, making pleasant melodic
developments in video-game theme music with lazy-yet-tight beat
programming, interesting time signature variation, and off-kilter
arrangements that will make you shake a leg. His current album,
"M3rck mix 4," is out now on M3rck records.
Yard and m50 take up the duties of rocking the party with their
DJing. Yard, from Portland, Oregon, shakes the room with booty
shaking techno from his recent releases on Narita/M3rck and the
infamous Skam label in the UK. m50 will awe crowds with his fine
Chicago selection and insane mixing abilities.

Thursday May 26 2005:
Portland, OR @ The Holocene (1001 SE Morrison)
Ainu CD Release Party!!! w/OBELUS, Derek Fisher & The Perfect Cyn
21+ $5 | 9pm - 2am
Come celebrate the release of Octoporn, the debut album from Portland's own
dynamic electro duo, AINU's Octoporn is the culminations of two and a half
years of recording and experimenting in theirs personal studio. Dark
experimental electro that turns on a dime, the album is a journey through
glitch, darkness, and bass. Lots and lots of bass. Included on the bill is the
very special guest, Obelus, the Seattle-based live electronic duo of Adam Pessl
and Jason Goessl. By playing traditional instruments of guitar and drums
through a matrix of samplers, effects, and sequencers, Obelus reconstructs
sounds into an eclectic mix of tempos, textures, and moods. These live
electronic collages are lush ambient synth-and-bass-driven loops propelled by
complex rhythmic progressions that take the listener on a sonic escape to the
untempered regions of musical imagination. Rounding out the night are
Portland's irascible DJ duo Derek Fisher and The Perfect Cyn, who kick out the
robojams on the wheels of steel, spinning their infectious party mix of machine
music and sexy cyborg disco.
There will be plenty of copies of the Cd at the show, you can also order them
via our web-page.

Ainu : Octoporn (t&j 016)
Combining elements of glitch, lo-fi, and the sci-fi with booming bass, Ainu's
debut album Octoporn is an exploration of the vast possibilities of
electrofunk. Like video ghost images on an arcade screen, the songs establish a
haunting mood that lingers long in the eardrums.
Built up from structured improvisations and live recordings, the album
showcases Ainu's live performance skills.Octoporn channels the experimental
spirit of bands such as Mouse on Mars and Drexciya while remaining head-nodding
and booty-shaking. Lovers of machine music and IDM alike will both find
something to enjoy about this release.

Office Products : Nude Media (t&j 017)
The music of the duo Office Products is best described as spontaneous,
intelligent, comic and extremely difficult. Residing in Portland, Oregon, Doug
Theriault and David Chandler (Solenoid/Dj Brokenwindow) have invented a hybrid
of European free improvisation, musique concrete, turntablism, and
synthesizer-based electronica that is performed live.
Office Products have released numerous recordings in the U.S., Europe and Japan
and have performed/collaborated live with People Like Us (UK) and Mark Hosler
(from Negativeland) among many others since 1996.
Nude Media is a culmination of various recording sessions over the past 2
years.
David Chandler: Electronic Percussion/Synthesizer
Doug Theriault: Sensor Guitar/LiSa
These recordings are a culmination of work recorded from 2000 thru mid 2004.

Doug Theriault : Interface (t&j 018)
Guitarist/Improviser Doug Theriault has many different approaches to his
instrument. But none is more compelling than his work with his Sensor guitar.
All guitar sounds and other live samples created on this recording were
manipulated live using only his guitar, which controls his live electronics.
With a wave of his hands, or by touching a string he can control the entire
sound processing and speaker placement of a live improvisation/composition.
Sensor Guitar controlling live electronics.
All pieces improvised/recorded live at studio LTR June 2003.
