Thanks for the reviews. I agree with you on the Daedelus, I always find his music interesting...could've done without the TTC track tho. I didn't know Fog had a new one out. I'll be sure to grab it, aong with the Boom Bip. I have one short review for the new Mice Parade...it's GORGEOUS! I just got it last night, and he seems to get better with each release. There's a bit more vocals on it. I enjoy his voice as well as the singer from mum (who sings on a couple tracks), so it's welcomed. Check it out, it's called Bem-Vinda Vontade. ak -----Original Message----- From: MJed5150@aol.com To: idm@hyperreal.org Sent: Mon, 4 Apr 2005 18:13:03 EDT Subject: [idm] Some recent albums I've enjoyed My recent record purchases have been surprisingly good ... Boom Bip's 2xLP "Blue eyed in the red room" is solid in my opinion. I dig just about every track. He's always had a classy beat to him, but his production and expansion of his last album in general is remarkable. This is exactly what I wanted to hear, and then some. Daedelus' LP "Exquisite Corpse" was not what I was expecting from him, but it was a breath of fresh air to me. I'm not sure how much if it is sampled, but his tone has that old time feeling to it. It's done well. Aside maybe 2-3 tracks, it's another good one. Fog's CD "10th Avenue Freakout" first 4 tracks scared me into thinking this would be a dud (I love the last 2 full lengths, and hymies' is good too). The 2nd half of the album is more worth it. He's taken a more beat oriented approach, as well as moving towards a "band style" feel to his tracks. This one wasn't as good as Boom Bip or Daedelus, but I though I'd recommend it. I'm still sitting on the fence w/ Prefuse 73's new one. Some of it is cool, but some is the same old, same old ... Mike Jedlicka www.opticecho.com
