I use the old cement blocks w/ 2 x 4s method. It's stable, cheap, and works
really well. I use 3-2 x 4s for the bottoms, and 2 cement blocks per shelf.
Record fit perfectly with a good 5 inches to spare at the top. My
personal shelf is 5 stories high, and holds a load of records. I highly recommend
using this method, unless you have the $ to buy a professional shelf. As I'm
sure you know, don't put your records in the basement, or they could mold
(I've seen it and it's not fun to say the least). Best of luck ...
