At a guess, you heard the Phillip Glass orchestration - Glass is a big fan of Aphex - there's a recording of it on the Donkey Rhubarb EP, and it's really quite nice. More recently there's been a collaboration between the London Sinfonietta and various Warp artists - the Glass orchestration predates it but might have been included, and that could have been what you saw.
Which reminds me of a limerick:
