That is totally true, i love the music for the music. I think Squarepusher is really hot cause he makes me cry without words, thats what got me into IDM. IDM as a genre is getting really rigid though and thats what i meant, it is losing its soul. Mark Schieldrop <mark@schieldrop.net> wrote:> I half-agree: I think IDM really needs a goth infusion. Isn't IDM pretentious enough as it is? I think the last thing we should do is encourage these artists to try and become celebrities. One of the main reasons I got interested in this vague and wide ranging genre is the fact that most artists are faceless. It's about the music. I could care less what any of these artists look like. If I see them perform live, I expect them to be hidden behind mountains of equipment. If you care about 'image' I suggest picking up a Jessica Simpson disc. --- Mark Schieldrop Reporter, The South County Independent (401)608-2037 mark@schieldrop.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
