I can't help but thinking we are all getting sucked into some kind of trap. I am very much looking forward to a holiday away from technology shortly. I just keep thinking how much would we loose, if the power was turned off. If the machine turns on us and we have to unplug it. I am packing up my room to go away, looking through all my paper notes and enjoying them immensely. However while my paper and books fills three boxes .. my trusty laptop now holds the paper, cd, vinyl equivalent of 15 boxes .. More to the point I have collections of music, writing that only exist in digital form. (I hate printing on paper now) I choose not to live in fear. But I keep feeling like I'm in some Sci Fi book where the astronauts are wondering through empty city wondering where all the aliens have gone .. I've sold my soul to a digital future .. . gorging myself in potential of circuits Dreaming in the ether of million shiny magic things. Where is my backup .. ? At least I still own a pencil. Anyone know how to make paper ? Anyway, going to Burma where I will listen AM radio and ride a bicycle. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
