It's pretty rational to assume that frequency constructions can manifest physical effects in organisms. Anything, even as delicate as sound waves will begin to show physical effects when manipulated and amplified within the correct variables. Some folks were talking about why specific songs and genres made them feel ill. I believe an actual song which was compiled as such, brings with it more than mere technicality. What of the intention and emotion driving the song? Some concentrate too heavily on technicallity, some too heavily on emotion. Though i believe that we're all looking for a balance of the two. For example: I've moved primarily from classic rock to hip hop to metal to hardcore to emo to electronic in my life. There's nothing that can take my love for: Rush, Saul WIlliams, The Roots, K-os, In Flames, Soilwork, If Hope Falls, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Homage To Catalonia, BP, etc. But through it all, i believe that electronic, more specifically, IDM, encompasses all that i'm searching for in music. I won't lie. As painful as it is to admit here of all places; i love trance. n_n Though i don't respect the technicality of much trance, i love the emotion and power in it. For me, IDM is written by hard working, curious and for the most part, accepting people. I enjoy correlating and feeling allied with people through their music and IDM does that for me. 8] So, what is it that you love about IDM and what lead you to be a part of this emailing list? _________________________________________________________________ On the road to retirement?
