M80, a clothing shop, has a nice selection of vinyl
and cds stocked by Rom. Provided it's still open.
Show wise no idea, night wise no idea.
Shows are fairly sporadic in Miami, it's
indie-rock scene is huge these days, but
electronica has always been small down there.
Still, there's something to do.
NOPE, M80 IS HISTORY,,, GEE, record stores? i guess Blue Note in north miami
beach, i havent been there in years, but dj le spam continues to raid their
warehouse, so if youre into rare grooves, thats someplace, couldnt vouch for
their current experimental selection, previously there was none, but there
is probably plenty of guitar/college radio stuff in the side room run by
leslie, former proprieter of the legendary Open Books & Records, a florida
punk icon from the 70s & 80s... but there's really no stores of the
underground variety,,, loads of carribean independents, tho, if youre into
island music.
Churhills, a pub in little haiti will be wrapping up their miami rock
festival the end of sept... check churchillspub.com (at least, i think thats
it), otherwise google "churchills pub miami"
google "street miami" and "miami new times" or check miamiherald.com and
search thru their entertainment sections for night life.
i took kenneth anger (hollywood babylon) to the food court at Bayside Miami,
downtown at Biscayne Blvd; he seemed to like that.
