Radical Connector is great, but it's quite a bit
different than Ideology IMO. Honestly, I'm surprised
that MoM took such a straight-forward funk/electronic
direction on this album. Ideology was all over the
friggen place: noise, prog rock, strings, horns,
glitch, guitar, you name it. Ideology was absolutely
CRAMMED with ideas and instrumentation. Radical
Connector is a bit more sparse and focused. Both are
undeniably MoM, though.
BTW, if you want to really impress a friend who
doesn't like electronic music or who thinks that a
live IDM performance is just some geek tweaking knobs
on his laptop, you need to take them to a Mouse on
Mars show. They are an incredible live band. The way
they mix live performance with presequenced bits is
brilliant.
