To answer your first question, please re-read what I originally wrote. I
completely lost whatever manufactured "hip-cred" I had earned for myself,
which is not, I suppose, what smaller labels want to hear.
As for the second question: I don't want to sound abrasive here, but I was
signed to release through the largest record distributor in the world. I
think I know (or at least knew) what I was doing. I have management, PR and
even a few commercials for ca$h under my belt. I did not send out 4-5 demos
and wait for the chicks to line up. I have been professionally writing and
producing -- making money at it -- for 4 years.
For whatever reason, I am in the void: not commercial enough for the bigs
(which, as I was told by those guys, meant "not trance") and too tainted by
exposure for the smaller labels.
Whatever. Like I said, it is what it is. If I had humbled myself and
produced the trance album they wanted, I might be rich and up to my eyeballs
in fine foreign women today. As it was, I stood my ground, hoping to get
picked up by a smaller label in the aftermath. Didn't happen.

Why would an indie label negate communication with you because of your
relation with a big label? did you try enough labels?
(I am talking 400 - 500 here... not just sending 5 demos out and waiting for
the girls to rush by your house with their mouth open...)
