Just got ahold of "Goodair + Minimissing" by Erast, on Laboratory Instinct, and man, this is one fun listen! The music is all over the map, from some sound collage-ish, noisy type stuff, blending into IDM/orchestral treatments, morphing into dense rythmwork.... some random interesting vocal samples and stuff... Just damn fun to hear. Not DSP wankery, not IDM cliches (heh)... And the Freeform remix of Goodair is tops, his remixes are always a surprise, to me at least. Naturally sounds nothing like his recent Skam work,,, The AtomTM remix is fun, too. I've never heard much AtomTM... You know, I'm not going to say anything about "album of the year" or seek will pounce & force me to listen to more of the ghastly o9 album, but... between this and Ratatat, which I've grown to love, and which is nothing like this, I think I have a couple of contenders for my end-of-year best of list, if I remember them then. I probably won't. -Adam Piontek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
