I was really dissapointed in the album, i think it sounds very dated and
unoriginal. I've been a big Christian Kleine fan for awhile, both his solo
work and the Hermann And Kleine stuff, and was very excited about this new
release. I dont think the guitar work on it stands alone as decent
music, and the underlying beats seem very '97 simple or something.
Also downloaded a few things recommended by the list, RATATAT and dDamage
which i've also been dissapointed in. They both just seem second rate and
uninspired.
My recent favs have been the Zeigenbock Kopf album on tigerbeat6, John
Dwyers fucked up electronic band, the new Remote Viewer mini lp 'You'll
Love Our Defeatest Attitude', the BitStream material my friend was letting
me hear, and i guess lots of noisey indie-pop - Party Of One, Sluts Of
Trust, and this excellent German band called Like A Stuntman.
