laptop performances are sometimes as "live" as
they can be in terms of instantenious decision
makin by the musician on stage
with rock singers on the other hand you can see
how they sing to a prerecorded phonogram as well
funk-techno trend has different quality of the
sound,
it grooves, it is a little monotonic, it is
oriented to facilitate
certain dancing invironment
rock-song trend produces generally speking much
more limited product with much more strict rules
for its structure.
that could be another reason it is not
reinventing itself
but of course genres interlace and overlay and
whatever
bottom line is
arts are only good when they constantly reinvent
themselfs sufficiently not superficially
