Hey everyone,
I usually tend to lurk on here rather than post, but I have to make some
decisions and I thought I'd consult the listmembers for their opinions.
I'm currently in Toronto, studying Musicology at U of T, and I've been
accepted in a number of places in the states for my PhD work. I'm
planning on doing my dissertation work on EDM communities and
cultural/aesthetic value, so I'm very interested in finding a location
that has a good school AND a few vibrant scenes.
So do any of you have any opinions on NYC, Chicago and/or Philly? What
sort of scenes are strong? How open are the scenes to new people? I
spent a few years close to Chicago, but that was in 97-98 and I"m sure
things have changed a lot since then...
