I'd also suggest listening to the Soft Pink Truth("Do You Party?",
2002/3). Some of it isn't particularly dance-floor-ready, but the samples
and the way they are put together seem to evoke disco & funk for me.
This is especially true of "Promofunk", "Coat Check", "No Love" and "Soft
Pink Missy" (although the last one is quite minimal).
I also wonder how Akufen's particular brand of microhouse fits into this
disco-idm discourse. It's hardly disco, but once again I find myself
thinking of disco when I listen to some of the tracks. Hmm...
