Sort of a tangent on the topic. But there is that show "Echoes" that plays on NPR. It seems to cover this "world-music"/newage/ambient kind of territory. Which when i think of it doesn't seem very popular or significant. But its also not personally an area of interest. Still, if a show like that can exist, why not something diverse dedicated to all "interesting" electronic music?
