i have used reason 2.5 as well....pretty neato and easy to create sounds...the samplers in reason are way cool. i just bought reaktor 4 and i am IN LOVE with it! it is basically a modular synth/effects/sampling environment that allows you COMPLETE control over all aspects of your sound design. the learning curve is a little steep, but i am figuring it out.
