SOME NEWS FROM EDDY GRANT'S FRONTLINE ok there's a new website + be sure to check it out when you can, <http://www.brainwashed.com/vvm>www.brainwashed.com/vvm there you will find a new competition where you can win our 36 inches of Relax and news about all of our new and upcoming releases (something like 13 things right now). Amazingly and as if by magic you can find an MP3 sampler of all of our new releases free for you to download and distribute, that's right 11 tracks taken from all of our new releases and encoded at a very high format which makes those other labels who use real audio (like does anybody listen to this shit and ever wonder,,, why ??) seem shit and dull.// it's true we love giving you free audio to play/distribute and destroy, no other small label gives you more and charges you nothing. RELAX be quick our relax reissue is selling fast, be sure not to miss it - it's the best packaged bootleg you ever saw and has the sounds to match, there are some preview MP3s online for those of you interested in that sort of perVERSION. anyway all formats are limited LIVE after a show in perpignan where i broke the stage, toppled over the speakers, dived into the audience and rolled out of the venue into the street and into a bar across the road whilst leaving the music playing, much to everybodies amusement (pictures of this are coming soon), there is a Christmas Party in Bristol on the 19th of December. Featuring V/Vm (live), Fast Lady (live), Smallcock (live) and Neck Doppler (live). Be sure not to miss out, the last time we did a show in Bristol we set the speakers on fire, expect more of the same i guess. Full details at the site once again and this is the party you simply don't wanna miss. Also this coming friday i'll be talking about bootlegs (though i'd much rather be talking about girls wearing boots and showing their legs) in Liverpool afterwhich i'll be spinning the wheels of steel (well playing a premixed and prepared CD whilst getting nailed on duval because that's more fun), if you're in the area be sure to come down to witness the event, for it shall be an event. Looking forward into january there's a show in Newcastle at the Cluny on the 24th,, more on that later..... ---- ELSEWHERE this month i'm sure people have noticed the use of the V/Vm theme "mouldy old dough" on the sony playstation adverts in the UK ? it's true i saw and heard it during the Hollyoaks ad break one sunday through my bloodshot eyes and hungovered head and just before i saw verkon kaye and threw up. Also it's great to see Warp Records (EMI dressed in a designers rupublic designed t-shirt) making their entire back catalogue available for download, ok you have to pay, but it's a good reminder to those of you who don't know that once Warp used to release challenging music and were on the frontline of new music. The one thing however they forgot to mention is that they aren't the first label to put their entire catalogue online (as they falsely claim), that accolade goes to the mighty IRDIAL records who did this a few years ago and for FREE... that's right FREE. Unfortunately that site is no longer with us but credit where credit is due. I know people think V/Vm is anti Warp but the fact is this, Warp used to be good and find new music and push new music, now they make wallpaper music for people who like slippers, no challenge, no energy, no attitude just a running soundtrack for BB2 and Channel four documentaries or Newsnight. Hopefully one day the energy and attitude will return for them and the bitterness they have for V/Vm will vanish, because all we wanna see is something which justifies the HYPE that goes along with every warp release these days. Anyway that's your lot for now, i could say more and should say more, but right now i'm sober enough to be legible and awake enough to say goodbye./ there will be another outburst real soon -// hopefully see you in Bristol for the xmas knockout (19th) and for the subsquent bar crawl on the (20th) which will end in a big mess at the 24 hour star bar which is the star and garter with DJ Derrick providing the soundtrack. Live the dream and god bless Frank Bruno and all the others who have advertised for DFS// the sale must end monday. X ---- out this month > Relax (7" picture disc) / (12") / (12" remix) / (CD) next month > v/a "zatsu ongaku" (cd) fast lady "the money shot" (cd) ****************************** V/Vm Test Records dividing opinion, hacking music and getting shipwrecked supporting frank bruno drinking duval and annoying warp since 1996. to be added or removed from this list MAIL HERE > <mailto:vvm@goldserve.net>vvm@goldserve.net www.brainwashed.com/vvm ****************************** _______________________________________________ V-Vm mailing list V-Vm@hollyfeld.org http://www.hollyfeld.org/mailman/listinfo/v-vm --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
