For cleaning, it's a matter of some debate. However, there's is uncharacteristic agreement that *playing* a wet record is a
good way to destroy it. Any lubrication is going to cause a diamond stylus to just run through the grooves easier, slicing
through and smoothing down the rough edges that correspond to treble and changes in dynamics.
