I agree with you on the talents, but I do think that the source does have
some influence. But that's not based on gender. I think it's based more
on a "kick in the pants" attitude. They got together with these people,
and the person who was already making music said "Look, you've got some
good sounds, you should work at it and put it out, ok?" it happened with
lots of people on the early rephlex label, and I'm sure it's pretty much a
constant -- artists giving other, budding artists, the kick in the pants
they need to get stuff out there.
I personally think the guys/people who "don't understand women" are
usually "not paying attention."
