Montreal people are lucky. You get to see great IDM and Indie acts every week. You have GYBE, David Kristian, Deadbeat and Jetone living in the same city. A lot of these artists don't tour or get to cross the border to play shows.
I want to move to Montreal.

easy, locate yourself in a city known for its cheap rent, start your own

they are owned by mauro pezzente (who is indeed part of GY!BE) & his
partner kiva stimac (who is not, as far as i know). it's a friendly
