arovane aka uwe zahn is indeed a real person. i had the pleasure of meeting
him a year ago in berlin. really nice guy and i'm a big fan of his work.
Atol Scrap (2000 Din) and Tides (2000 CCO) are classic idm records in my
book
naturally, ae and aphex influenced everyone to some extent but for me there
are 3 artists that picked up the mighty gauntlet autechre threw down after
tri repetae in '95.

no problem. humor doesn't always translate over email. it was only
a passing thought, although richard d. james is such a crazy and
prolific guy he could very well have another alias besides the ones
he admits to. however, if anyone assumed arovane was actually some
other band's side-project, they probably would have guessed it was
autechre from most of the sounds on it. good stuff.
