So I have this day job...
The company I work for is Play Network (www.playnetwork.com) and I am the
senor music programmer in charge of electronic music. My job basically
consists of compiling proprietarily formatted music discs that go out to any
number of our 15,000 clients world wide.
I am a huge fan of electronic music (especially IDM) and I have been making
an effort to contact electronic music labels about obtaining/licensing their
music. We have recently made deals with Hefty, Elektrolux, Klein, Tru
Thoughts and we already have licensing through most larger electronic
distributors/labels (i.e. Ninja Tune, Compost, Stereo Deluxe, Instinct, K7,
etc.). Personally I would like to see some of the smaller IDM labels get
some exposure (and royality checks) so if there are any label owners out
their that are interested please contact me off line. I will send you all
necessary agreement forms and if you have specific questions I can put you
in contact with our licensing department.
We're a smaller company, but progressing well. We're very open minded when
it comes to the music we program and our clients respect that.
Sincerely,
Sean Patrick Horton
Senor Music Programmer/Play Network
