Agreed, the novation one does seem to be the cream of the crop but at $399 I think for a controller it is way too expensive. I just bought the Edirol PCR-30 instead (http://www.edirol.com/products/info/pcr30.html) - it has 32 velocity sensitive keys, 8 knobs, 8 faders and 9 assignable buttons, 1 preset memory and 15 user assignable memory locations and, like most powered by USB. Best of all it has a RRP of $179, so more than half what the novation costs. The ozone was my first choice until I saw the pcr-30. I liked it as it was nice and compact but it only has knobs, no sliders and as far as I could tell no presets.
