for $100 you can get sony mdr 7508s (or others in that
line)... cost/quality comparison there is no
competition from akgs or sennheisers i think (those
are the brands i listened to)... plus they are rugged
and built to be abused, very much unlike most
sennheiser models i've seen which felt like i would
break them soon after i came to own them.
they are studio monitor headphones though which may be
a turn off (very flat freq response - i prefer it
personally) and i find they take a lot of juice to be
loud...
