The Communist Manifesto was marketing? Ummm... no! Sure, parts were written to appeal to the sensibilities of the proletariat, but marketing is intrinsically linked to someone trying to turn a dollar. Marx and Engel were definitely not trying to sell out the lower class. And what Greg's problem seems to be is that the people at Sirius are commodifying this anti-corporate attitude for their corporate means. I think it sucks too, but it is a common practice in the advertising industry. Selling the images of subcultures and anything living in opposition to the mainstream is everywhere and its nothing new. But it still sucks. So congrats to Sirius for playing BOC tracks when Clear Channel won't, but they are still part of the problem. Until the solution comes along, I'll stick to WFMU's amazing 128kbs stream. -Aaron --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
