"Radioactivity" is still in print. The original poster didn't feel it necessary to go into any detail about what they mean by "IDM" when searching for its roots in history, but you'll have to go further back than the 70s. As much as Klaus Schulze fans like to give him credit for everything that came after him, I'm going to have to refer to actual history and point you guys to Bruce Haack, who made wacky ersatz-childrens music with a home made synth system. Some of it sounds like K'werk, some more like Rephlex stuff. Get the history of electronic music compilation on Ellipsis Arts if you're interested in a basic overview of old electronic music, but old electronic music and "Old IDM" are not the same thing. -e --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
