That's right. There were only a couple portable minidiscs with digital
out, the very first models I think. Of course they're useless by now, they
use the early atrac versions with a very crappy sound. However there are
numerous hi-fi decks with digital out, but you might as well buy a portable
dat deck for that. The TCD-M1 competes with minidiscs in terms of size and
portability.
