Yeah, I get your point, which is one reason why this one's interesting to me. It's obvious that Richard Kirk (who many may know as one of the founders of Cabaret Voltaire) has listened to his fair share of the classic stuff; he understands it, and harnesses that understanding to use with rhythms that are pretty unclassicdublike (that's a word, right?) — synthetic, almost Dancehall-y shuffle-step beats. And the tension between the contemplation inherent in 70s dub and the momentum of 21st century rhythms moves the record in interesting directions --definitely more interesting than Tortoise's wank-off takes on dub.
If I wanna listen to dub, I'm gonna hit the classic stuff; if I want to hear someone who understands dub, but is interested in taking it in new directions, Sandoz is cool — especially if, like your tag says, you play dub and dancehall. This hits both without being derivative. Not much hard step, though.

Sandoz just barrels through the dubs with a ton of momentum.
quoted 1 line I might be ignorant to dub music but that statement seems contradictory.
