At the risk of helping along another interminable thread that ends yet again with people coming to the conclusion that music appreciation is a subjective activity as if it comes (again) from god's blistering tongue, you are stoned on something. So we have two kinds of IDM listeners: those who like Autechre's newer music and those who are like you. People in the second group (you) are disappointed because they are making tracks that you don't find musical, artistic, or similar to the IDM (Autechre) tracks you already like. Count yourself among the slobbering masses who only wish they would make the same music they made <x> years ago. Oh, but more experimental, right? Welp, here's a newsflash: they are getting "all crazy experimental". Dizzig? Plenty of people don't like it, plenty of others do. Got anything else to add to that conclusion? Are there four kinds of IDM listeners yet? Come on, it's okay not to like Autechre anymore if that's the way it is for you, but don't spew this grandiose sociological theory junk like it holds any water. It's all about you, just admit it, spend your time listening to music you like, and get on with your life. -e --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
