I don't hear that at all. It all sounds very intentional and planned to my ears. I can hear the feelings that are in there, or that I at least perceive to be in there. And, sure, I like to hear interesting sounds too, but I listen for enjoyability and aesthetics. Not for wankery.

I don't think they were ever interested in listener's opinions.
