and this brings up a very interesting point... why then are independent CDs just as much? TroubleManUnlimited and Dischord's discs always seem to be a couple dollars cheaper where i shop, which is rad... but why aren't the indies releasing cds at $7 (tops)? i've been wondering this for a while, can someone tell me? i mean, it would even be a brilliant publicity/marketing stunt to release all of your cds at $6... you would help bring to light the grotesque overpricing by others, and maybe make more money in the long run for yourself... i work in the publishing industry... we make, like, $1 off a $25 hardcover book...
