Grace Jones was my babysitter for a short time in the late seventies. but no one ever believes me when I tell them that so, ....Trevor Horn. For a relatively overlooked ZTT masterpiece which I believe has a Trevor Horn hand in it, look for Andrew Poppy. Big, symphonic, uplifting and sometimesvocal. I'm forgetting the title but it has the word "beating" in it. Nice. Prog is only like idm in one way: its full of masterpieces -and- utter crap. There is no "prog" ethos, as its' bands are so different. As well, "prog" defines a narrow number of bands, mainly British. To see Crimson and Goblin even in the same thread as Journey is disheartening. I wonder how much prog fixation is irony and camp value and how much is truly about the music. There are certainly amazing recordings from this genre but, to me, gear worship and anal-retentive composition gets pretty tiring once you've had your first few ironic giggles.
