Agreed.

Disagree, but understand and respect your opinion. However, if you're feeling charitable, do try to give 'Close to the Edge' or 'Tales from Topographic Oceans' a neutral listen: the production is dated, but the composition... Many people I know can't get past Jon Anderson's voice/lyrics (I'm not one of them), but I think enough time has passed to re-evaluate them...

If you don't like Yes, you might start with something later: the 'golden era' (IMHO) of 'later year' KC are the 3 albums from the 80s, Discipline, Beat, & 3 of a Perfect Pair. IMHO the first two are stronger than the last, but all are worth a listen. The instrumentals may particularly appeal (personally I [heart] Adrian Belew). The ideal starting point might be 'the sheltering sky,' a long instrumental... On the other hand, there is much to like in early KC ~ it's just more rooted in its era (60s/70s) and sounds it... but again, if you don't like Yes... might try Islands though.
