I think the reviewer thinks they are one and the same but they are definitely not. M?m (pronounced moom) is from Iceland and from what I can tell MUM is a duo from Vienna...

sorry you were so disappointed, but I couldn't disagree more. Sigur R?s is on my top 5 for the year. I think it's actually better than the previous release, because it flows more as a complete album rather than a collection of songs. I could see if your expectations were for more of the same, or for concise pop songs, that it would be a disappointment but I think it more than delivers as far as an accomplished album is concerned... certainly darker in places as well. Ah, well, that's personal taste for you :-)

I honestly think 2002 was quite exciting for music. I think, however, a lot of what excited me had little or nothing to do with traditional IDM fare. I feel like techno continues to mutate and evolve in new and interesting ways, that there are a variety of new rock-format bands that are recombining old tricks with new approaches.... I posted a list last week, so I won't go into that again, but I feel like more than ever there is a lot happening out there... m.mercer :: design + sound sound: http://www.mattmercer.com design: http://www.matthewmercer.com _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
