both have eraldo bernocchi, i believe.

yes, and what i heard of it was pretty good, if you like that grey sort of scary lo bit rate noise (i do sometimes). ant-zen is worth looking into generally, just avoid anything with lyrics. you can get mechanized death machine pounding noise, noise of the aforementioned grey, lo bit rate, and scary variety, or ambient noise... (you can also get some pretty terrible industrial style bleach gargling (aka 'vocals'), but i try to forget that part of ant-zen since otherwise it's such an amazing label). re: other noise recommendations... well for list relevance you could hear the new whitehouse record Cruise (mr. r.d. james has taken to playing various tracks from it at various appearances - there is a funny review here: http://www.warprecords.com/news/?offset=0&ti_id=314 "unnecessary, exploitative and cheap" in reference to the song "public" by peter sotos and steve albini). it's better than other ones. that is, if supporting music with lyrics about the numerous joys of lovely topics like rape and excrement (unintelligibly processed, but carefully printed in the booklet for your reading pleasure) doesn't contradict yr moral code. i am a big fan of aube. one sound source per album. he also has a ton of records; cardiac strain (heart noises) is good and may still be available on alien8, but it's not very balls out. Wired Trap is very much balls out, but prolly not around. Ground Zero (and anything involving Otomo Yoshihide really) is kind of where it's at for music (or whatever) that is *brutal* and fun and very intelligent. Consume Red (one of the more visionary records of recent times, but executed with clear purpose and intent, thus making it hard to call "noise") and Revolutionary Pekinese Opera and Null & Void all highly recommended (in that order), but be aware they have a japanese psych/free jazz slant (trust me, it's way cooler than that sounds)... mutilated in postproduction. His records under his own name are inexplicably enjoyable but very intense... prolly better to listen before buying. silence ... silence ... CRAKCKSNAPKRR ... silence ... etc. masonna does not work for me. gerogerigegege are occasionally fun to hear. Christian Marclay albums are brainy and not (usually) particularly hard to listen to but they are quite wonderful. Records 85-92 or something is my favorite, but i seem to like everything he does. i like zeena parkins (or is that just 'free jazz')... iannis xenakis has some good (and rugged) records. really that's not even scratching the surface - noise is not very hard to make and thus there are a lot of quality records (and far more worthless ones). ===== the humble abbott arthur purvis set his hand hereto __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
