Hello f(r)iends,
<<Stars As Eyes: I saw them about a year ago and their set is a lot more
dynamic and interactive. Didn't pick up their new CD but the new material
sounded great, esp. the song with vocals.>>
When I saw the Tigerbeat6 tour in Austin, I liked Stars as Eyes'
instrumental songs MUCH more than the ones with vocals. The guitar parts
and lyrics sounded almost Dr. Seuss simple, and on one song, the guy whined
like Mark E. Smith with a bad stomachache...
<<Numbers: They rocked. They are doing a sort of New Wave Revival thing --
think B-52s, Talking Heads, filtered through sort of a White Stripes
aesthetic.>>
I personally think that Erase Errata does Numbers' shtick a WHOLE lot
better...
<<Cex: Full disclosure -- I have personal and professional ties with Rjyan,
so I'm biased, but he's really turning into a consumate entertainer.>>
Cex is the shiznit...his skills as an MC and beat-maker are getting better
by the minute, and his stage banter is hands down, the funniest and most
engaging of any touring act I've seen this year.
