I'm seeing this quite a bit. I can see the
connection, especially on a few tracks frow his recent
work on planet-mu, but he really doesn't flow like
Tom. This isn't a criticism of course, but a big
attraction to squarepusher, for me anyway, is how the
mutilation is reconstructed to form an even better
flow. In short, his music is accessable on all
levels.
Vsnares often seems to make it a point to NOT make
things "right", or at least not as accessable. Tom
doesn't switch time signatures every loop and a third.
There are exceptions in both cases of course. Fuck
Toronto Jungle is probably the closest tracks I can
think of that compares.
Also, Squarepusher has a much cleaner sound.
