i guess i haven't heard much autechre. the first thing i ever got jophn peel 2 and then i bought confield when it came out, then LP7 then incunabula for a birthday. i haven't heard really anything of the other autechre and gescom material. i just want to know if with the material i've got, i've kind of seen what the shallow end is like and the deep end is like so what's the area inbetween like (amber etc).

this album is great and in a way, it kind of introduced me to the term glitch and minimalist techno after i'd found out a little bit aboout matmos. wanting to find more about glitch i think i found system by oval,(partly because afx had said they had used some of his ambient stuff for their material). bjork kind of introduced me to techno/whatever with soul

this is one of my favourite albums ever, it's just a powerfull album and the nyc album is great too. i remember getting it for christmas when i was 14/15, and my parents thought i was suicidal(no really)

never really liked radiohead when this came out, but i liked a few things by them and after hearing exit music on romeo and juliet i bought this album and got coonverted overnight. went to see them on the tent tour as well, the day kid A came out. i suppose i can kind of blame radiohead for me getting into more idmish type music, although they cant touch the stuff i listen to these days.

photek helped me get into the whole idea of beat science when i was 14 i've been hooked on finding progressively more complex beats and structures ever since.

great album, discovered it after vespertine, apart from seeing allis full of love on mtv.

i remember a skinny puppy album off a mate who was into industrial and metal stuff once. it was the remix album, not sure if the above is it but teh autechre remix was the first i ever heard of them. the fact that they had done this huge random sound collage with a tiny skinny puppy sample at the end sparked my interest in them. this is really quite a long and pointless email which i'm writing because i cant sleep, but hey, it may relate to some people. just wondering, does anyone have a creative audigy platinum ex sound card and trying to run it with windows xp, because mine is giving me hell, i want to use all the stuff i've go to make music, but the system jsut wont cooperate enough, i'm off --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
