I use the PC version of Octamed, for sample stuff and MIDI, and do some post
fx with soundforge. I find writing both melody and complex rythym stuff much
faster in trackers than anything like cubase. But then it could be because
I've been using it since I was 13, and trying to change to a new method over
ten years later can be really hard!
I think YeeKing uses octamed too (still on the Amiga though).

i use buzz, which is basically a tracker with the addition of
softsynths. i find that the tracker interface is essential (at least
for me) for writing drill'n'bass or other complex rythm stuff. that's
probably why a lot of these people use trackers. writing this stuff in
plain midi sequencers is a royal pain in the ass.
