The Mute label appears to be making a habit out of variations on this - the
NON record they've just released ("Children of the Black Sun") comes with a
bonus DVD that remixes the music in DVD 5.1 surroundsound format (the
Quadrophonic of the 00's!) - no visuals though except a static image that
mirrors the CD cover.
It's quite a good record by the way, even if the supplementary disc seems a
little bogus.

is anbody here familiar with the experimental avant-garde composer simon
fisher turner?
i picked up a copy of his latest album and realised that it comes with a cd
and dvd (for
the price of a standard 1 cd album).
The dvd contains all the music from the cd plus visuals to go along with the
music.
I'm rather impressed with this concept, i'd definetly like to see something
like this being
released by ambient/idm acts,
so have any other artists released albums like this?
Or will this be the format that many new album releases will take?
