I think Mr. Dangers started to be a tad derivative around Subliminal
Sandwich... just my 2cent
I don't think he's as much derivitive as he is just kicking his dead horse
at this point. Those are some some really original sounds on Subliminal
Sandwich and on Actual Sounds and Voices (my fave, too), but he seems to be
falling into this rut of- acoustic drums with a dubby synth bass line with
some squirrely squeaky synth sounds on top, and some occasional guitar
parts.
It's not a bad combination. He's just done it so many times now that I don't
really care to hear it again.
I would love to hear him do some things in a slightly more electronic
direction like the Original Fire cd. Also the dub mix of Prime Adio Soup is
one of my faves too.
I haven't heard anything from the new album yet, but I am still a fan, so
I'll be picking it up.
