I guess I'm somewhere in the middle. I do like "Gantz_Graf" and the accompanying visuals quite a bit, but also think they did sort of drop the ball by not including the original (superior) "Second Bad Vilbel," by not exploiting the 5.1 sound for "Gantz_Graf," etc. Speaking of which and changing the subject, does anyone know who actually _is_ doing something with 5.1 sound? I know Hawtin did some sort of proof-of-concept CD thing at the Miami conference a few years ago (it's now unavailable, see http://www.m-nus.com/flash/) and I've seen a DVD from the Sly & Robbie / Howie B collaboration that was mixed in surround, but who else is (if anyone) actually writing stuff in 5.1? The Orb always seemed like a no-brainer to me (they've always gotten so much mileage out of panning, I can't imagine they wouldn't leap at the opportunity to "paint the room" in surround), but that's probably just wishful thinking on my part...
