the unfortunate backlash of their success seems to be an expectation now that cannot possibly be fulfilled. i suppose someone in their pitiful detachment from autechre (only after probably worshipping them for years) is secretly planning to assasinate them or something. They're too big, they're shit now, they're bringing down the revolution they started! .... jesus christ. The new vid is sick, the 3 (only 3) tracks cover a more unsuspectfully broad range, 1st- almost pure gallery/installation sound (more like a live experiment) and now with an object that almost looks like the actual thing they used to make that track, represents the verge of their music, somewhere in between the club space, the gallery, the miscellaneous commercial dvd, the infinite relam and nature of objects themselves. 2nd- more new confield style (if you dontlike confield then forget it), edgy surface tensions and kinetic skin bonds stretching over an implied figure below, it moves, it mocks, its self-listening makes it more and more claustrophobic.... 3rd - movement into the breath of something huge, all encompassing, passing through the machine's personal history.... an epithetic door between states of permutation......autechre spanning themselves in order to push beyond their more solitary track of the object. its pretty damn cool. i love having the 3 vids, and i am not concerned there may be nothing to hack on the dvd in order to feel it being worthwhile. b.just another annoying autechre fan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
