the ananda shankar experience and state of bengal have a great
album together. it's called 'walking on'. it's on the real world label.
i really like it. some of it is plain old worldy, but a lot of it
has some deep cardamom-tinged funk. i love this stuff.
it came out in 1999. and amusingly, we just happened to be listening
to this in the houseness kitchen right now as i read your posting :)
