Best Shows for me... Smashing Pumpkins circa 91-92? - right after "Gish" came out and I was in Chicago for a long weekend. I had never heard of them before then and they amazed me. Parliament Funkadelic - 2000 @ 9:30 Club in D.C. - it was like a Wednesday night and the place emptied out fairly early, but P-Funk played for like another hour to the remaining 200-300 people in attendance. We were in the balcony and I look back and Bootsy Collins is standing 5 feet behind us watching the show before going back down to the stage to play again once he got noticed. At one point I counted 17 people on-stage who were all involved. I met George Clinton's big sweaty ass that night and got a picture. He was every bit as cool as you would have thought him to be. Definitely a highlight. I have to say, most of the great performances I have seen have not had anything to do with electronic-based music. JS
