The bottom line is that for that same $100 an upstart artist could make up 75 cdrs
and mail them out to labels, radio, press, etc and do a great deal to get their music
out. The only time those "pay for play" type scenerios end up working out ok
is when its a co-op sort of thing with a bunch of artists getting together and all pitching
in a bit.
And Greg is right, most of those comps do "SUCK ASS"!
