I haven't been to an Autechre show, but rather than chalk it up to
laziness or cheapness, I'd guess its more of a snobby
nose-high-in-the-air kind of thing. Read an interview and learn:
Autechre is way cooler than you and don't care what you think about any
of their artistic output. They are also mysterious as all fuck and if
they had any imagery for their live show, it might lead to assumptions
being made about their shadowy personas.
As for the new EP, I like the second and third track. I think they're
better than anything from Confield. Oh... and I watched the Grantz Graf
video again last night on this guys really large widescreen TV and it
just about kicked my ass down the stairs. It really needs to be seen on
the biggest screen possible. Getting considerably high on whatever is
around, doesn't hurt either. GRANTZ GRAF!
